We’ve added tools in Google Meet that make it easier for end-users to understand how their local desktop and network environments affect meeting quality,” Google said in a blog post.
The feature can be accessed using the overflow menu placed at the bottom right corner during an ongoing call. Also, the feature is only available on the web client of Meet.
The Troubleshooting and Help section page shows the meeting ID at the top and shows a Network stability graph.
The graph represents network information in real-time. Using the graph users can check things like Connection Delay, etc.
The connection graph will also highlight the bits when a video call quality is likely to take a hit due to network issues or local environment.
Google has also added a General Tips section which shows generic tips for a better video call quality.
Then there’s a System load chart that shows CPU usage in the last five minutes. This will give users an insight over how many systems resources are currently being used and how the system is performing.
The feature is rolling out to all segments including Google Workspace Essentials, Business Starter, Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Essentials, G Suite customers, Education and nonprofits customers.
